From Bach to Schnittke, composers have been writing fugues for solo violin for centuries. Hear how the violin transforms into a contrapuntal instrument on par with the organ and piano in this recital performed by violinist, Philip Marten featuring music by Bach, Vieuxtemps, Reger, and Schnittke. Welcome the inaugural concert of the Red Door Chamber Music Series at All Saints celebrating chamber music in the heart of Pleasant Ridge. This recital, presented by a string quartet from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, will explore the music, literature, and history surrounding the legendary violinist Rudolph Kreutzer, and why we remember what he inspired more than the man himself.
